Guitarist Roman Czornyj and singer/guitarist Craig Loftus met when they both relocated to Tunbridge Wells. They quickly discovered they had a lot in common – both being NHS workers and music/grass roots venues enthusiasts. Their mutual love of acts such as Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, Kurt Vile, REM, Talk Talk, and Doves inspired the pair to begin writing their own alternative indie rock songs with atmospheric and experimental guitars; with lyrics touching on themes that speak to them – mental health, politics, and the human condition. David Coleman (drums) and Tommy Brunt (bass) completed the line up and Yet to Invent were born.
The band have played shows in Kent, Surrey and London; with highlights including supporting The Professionals (featuring ex Sex Pistol Paul Cook) at the Boileroom in Guilford and Reverend and the Makers and Tom Meighan (ex Kasabian) at the Tunbridge Wells Forum. Yet to Invent have featured on a number of online radio shows, podcasts, and playlists and early 2024 saw them releasing their shoegaze infused single ‘Regenerate’ with a headline show at 93 Feet East in London. Summer 2024 will see the band make their Calverley grounds debut at the Tunbridge Wells Local and Live festival as well as releasing their new post-rock single ‘A False Alarm’.
