The Lewis Project is a UK registered charity based in Sevenoaks, Kent, dedicated to promoting mental wellbeing through the power of music for young people aged 16 and over. Founded in 2015 by Michele Grace and Sandra Boxall, the charity was established in memory of Lewis Murrell, a talented musician. Inspired by his love of music, The Lewis Project provides a free, welcoming, and inclusive space where young musicians can rehearse, collaborate, learn new skills, and build supportive friendships. Through workshops, jam sessions and performance opportunities, the charity helps participants develop confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging. Run entirely by volunteers, The Lewis Project believes that music is a universal language capable of reducing isolation, improving emotional wellbeing, and empowering individuals to express themselves in a safe and encouraging environment. Guided by its motto, “Where there is music, there is hope,” the charity continues to make a positive impact on the lives of young musicians across Kent.
