Front man of local band Suncharmer, Paul Crisp, performs at the Local & Live 2024 music festival launch party at The Old Auction House Tunbridge Wells

Local & Live is Back

The town’s biggest free music festival returns in August when Local & Live sets up in Calverley Grounds again. This was the message at a launch party held at The Old Auction House in The Pantiles on Monday. Business, local government and arts leaders gathered to send Local & Live on its way to another fabulous weekend of music and fun. With speeches by the event organisers, they were also entertained by front man of leading local band Suncharmer, Paul Crisp.

The free music festival is almost entirely funded by local business and particularly by Maxipay Accounting Services. This is the third year the local employer has been a major supporter of the festival and its input has been invaluable to the security of the event. So Local & Live is very pleased to announce that the company has signed up for a fourth year as headline sponsor for 2025.

Held over the bank holiday weekend from 23rd to 26th August the festival draws thousands to the park with its showcase of the very best the local music scene has to offer before moving to Sussex Mews on the holiday Monday. From modest beginnings on the Pantiles bandstand, the event is in its 18th year and has become the biggest free event in the area.
