New for 2026: Local&Live ‘New Band’ Bursary
In association with The Forum and MusicStation, Local&Live has introduced a ‘New Band’ Bursary, aimed at giving a helping hand to talented musicians who are just starting out. The bursary will focus on applications from bands (including duos and singer/songwriters) where all members are under the age of 18.
The bursary offers a development-focused package including mentoring, performance opportunities, professional recording and promotional support, with the winning band performing both at The Forum and on the Local&Live main stage.
Bands can apply for both the festival and the bursary through the Local&Live website. Full details and eligibility criteria are available online.
Paul Dunton, Local&Live founder, said:
“Local&Live has always been about giving local, grassroots musicians a platform and helping them take the next step. Opening applications for 2026 – and introducing the New Band Bursary – is about making sure all artists in our community feel supported, encouraged and heard. We can’t wait to discover the next wave of local talent.”
Local&Live is a registered charity with a mission to help more people access local, grassroots music and to discover their own voices as part of the cultural community. From the artists who perform to the thousands who attend each year, Local&Live is a truly local event.
